mydad has sevaral large black pots about 2 foot hight and just over a footish diameter wide what would you lot do with them if anything? think he used to grow pots in them!

I would do carrots or other root veg, nice fine compost should give lovely straight carrots :)

I am a novice though so may not necessarily be a good idea.........

You could always try the suttons range of seeds for patio/terrace gardening.
This year we are trying in pots at home their Squash.

If you like Courgettes - fill pot with cheap grow bag compost and plant one courgette in the middle . Keep well watered and you'll get loads ...

Courgettes outside - they're bigger plants than a lot of people think and will take over a greenhouse.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
