Manure delivery Glasgow?
« on: October 22, 2009, 21:02 »
Anyone know of anyone who delivers manure in the Glasgow/North Lanarkshire area.  I've tried google and Yellow Pages with no luck.

I've no transport so visiting stables etc isn't really an option.

Thanks
What if the Hokey Cokey IS what its all about...

Hi Cazzy,

I know you've tried Yellow Pages etc and have no transport, but are you right in the city or are you near enough the outskirts that you could find a farm or stables who might deliver for a nominal charge?

I'm on the edge of the city, there are no stables nearby but there is a farm a few miles down the road but I was under the impression that cow manure wasn't any good.......... I'm not sure now why I think that, maybe read it somewhere.

Nothing wrong with well rotted cow muck if you have access to that.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I might just go have a word with that farmer......... its the idea of carrying it on a bus thats putting me off, was bad enough when we brought our onions home last year lol

I've just had someone tell me that using fresh cow much like a tea bag is good............ fresh muck in a sack left soaking in the water butt.

You never know Cazzy, the farmer might be quite tame enough to deliver you some  :).

Good luck,  :).

.....the thought of you carrying some muck home on the bus.......

At least you will be less likely to have the obligatory "nutter on the bus" wanting to sit next to you!
