Title: manure delivery

We had a manure delivery today - fortunately I popped up to the site tonight. I wish I'd had my camera - you should have seen it shift all over the site. Some people have bigger manure heaps than their plot!

I keep meaning to ask this at the allotment shop. Can you usually just help yourself to these piles of manure? I've been collecting from a local stable near work and lugging back to the plot. There is either a lack of greedyness on our site OR loads and loads of manure deliveries.

Depends on the site - we have lots of wood chippings delivered and the rule is first come, first served. If someone has a delivery off their plot they can put their plot number on it - otherwise it is free for grabbing.
