Cherry Tree Shedding Leaves
« on: June 02, 2012, 11:43 »
My cherry tree (the ornamental type) the other day had healthy, glossy dark maroon leaves. I looked yesterday and a lot have fallen as if Autumn has kicked in for it. Most of the leaves have blackspots and yellowing. This has happened in the past after a healthy start. This time though it's a first time for it to shed.

I haven't done anything to it and don't use pesticides of chemicals. The only thing I did a few years ago was put a piece of copper wire around the trunk to stop snails climbing and eating the foliage. I removed it this year as it had cut into the bark slightly.
