Flymo Petrol Mower
« on: July 07, 2010, 20:08 »
I have a Flymo/Briggs&Stratton petrol mower. THe pull chord has jammed. I have removed the orange plastic cover the chord feeds into however the chord disappears into a sealed unit sitting on top of the engine.

This seems a reasonably straightforward problem and I had thought it would be simple to rectify however i can't work out what to do.

Anyone had a similar problem? Any advice very gratefully received as the grass is heading up round my ears.

The engine cowling is held on by 4x3/8 bolts. once you remove that, you will be able to get to the starter cord.
Be carefull, the metal of the cowling can be sharp.
