I would like some advice.
Our garden is about 800 sq.m (1/5 acre). It is really uneven and we are going to rotovate it.
I do not know if I need to buy a lawnmower (lawn is a big word for what we have) or a strimmer. We bought a strimmer last year but my father-in-law broke it when we were away.  :x
My husband is really not good at fixing things. :roll:
What would you recommend? What's best value for money? What makes to avoid?

ok why rotorvate? do you mean scarify?
it will take all day to strim 800 m2, ride on mower/paving or decking!

you can sort out dips with soil/sand mix and grass seed or turf.

if you want to relay you will need a turflifter, then rotorvate, level, turf,

Contractor would charge about £4500 to do it!
 you can buy turf for about £1.50 per M2

petrol strimmer would do 800m2 in under an hour unless it a complete jungle then it would be another 30 mins

I am not sure why my husband wants to rotovate. Our garden has a bit of a slope, no lawn whatsoever, it is just grass and weeds. Plus we have to children and a big dog.
We just want to make it neater, I guess.
My veg patch is out of reach anyway.

I'd be suspicious. My husband decided to rotovate our huge back garden cos he felt like it. I was left with the whirligig marooned in a sea of mud as he removed the path to that  :evil:    :roll:   I had a new baby at the time and had to slither my way to the line with me lovely white washing.  It nearly ended in divorce, so make sure he has a PLAN
