PU Boxes
« on: January 19, 2012, 14:25 »
Been having a clear-out at work and have come across over 120 small 2½"x4" PU boxes as pictured below.
The base has a ¾" hole, but the lid is solid.

Any ideas what these could be used for, would they be suitable for seedlings???

They look just like the boxes my business cards come in, only mine don't have the holes so it's really difficult to get them out without tipping them all out.

Much prefer the idea of a mini allotment tho!! :D

Spot on Mrs Cake!

I use them for small bits of kit in my briefcase, such as radio, earphones, Ipod etc...

The ones wothout holes are perfect for seeds too!

the hole is for drainage of course! Otherwise, it wouldn't be an allotment site, it would be a lake.

(Our allotment site was going to be a lake once, as part of a grand Victorian development scheme, but they had a recession then too...)

I wonder if you could find some old bits of croc to put in the bottom like you would in a pot to stop the soil falling out!  Would have to be minature - maybe egg shells?
