Taking me ages to pot into final resting place. LOL 57 of them. Well at least I can freeze them, and share.

Usually its tomatoes that I overdo.

That certainly makes a change from toms!

I only did 2 too many and they were weak specimens so didn't feel bad about putting them in the compost......(But, I have to admit to having 10 extra toms to find homes for :D )

Think of all the lovely roasted pepper sauces and soups you'll be able to make  ;)

I've grown 6 plants and will be hopeing for around 5 to 8 peppers from each plant, that'll give me enough for a few soups and sauces through the Autum/Winter.

I'll be growing more next year and holding back on the chillies as i've grown 12 chillies (6 jalapeno and 6 cayenne).

I have six bell pepper plants in my greenhouse how many peppers should I get
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

That depends on a lot of variables, temperature, feeding, watering, whether you pick them green or wait till they're red etc etc so it's difficult to generalise.

But I've never had fewer than 3 large peppers per plant. The smaller bells should give more fruit :)

@ Lulu...... Yep diffent varieties.
I've got about 6 different varieties this year.  California pepper red (very reliable this one for germinating and fruiting. Romano red was good last year so far looking a bit weedy this year.  Orange bell but as usual mixed labels up when repotting so not sure if any even survived, hope so cos they are nice.  Diablo, yellow tasty grill and red tasty grill.

@Stompy...............Must say though they freeze really well so not at all worried, just worn out from all that repotting.  Some are in the high rise bed for the first time, so I'll see if they fruit more, as I have heard they do when in a bed.

@ The phoenix...........In the pots I only get about 3 or 4 fruits per plant.  They are outside in the open in the garden, but I am located on Southcoast so they do ok.  I once grew in the conservatory (indoors) got loads of fruit per plant.  But I can't stand the little flies that come with growing indoors.

@ Mumofstig.........Well I do still have too many toms but not as many too many as previous years LOL.  Only 26 this year in pots this time.  Never again in raised bed it was a jungle out there couldn't get through the tangle.  Hopefully the peppers should behave better.  Just can't bring myself to throw out any extras.

I already have some almost golf size peppers coming, that's the california peppers, they're really good.

Sorry about the novel I just wrote Must get out more LOL ::)

I've done around 6 pepper plants and around 6 chilli plants.

Not sure of variety if i'm honest.

I'm a little concerned that people are already getting the fruits as mine are still just large green bushes at the minute !!!

Is this normal or am i doing something wrong - Do they need feed or just water.
And they look strong plants at present so do i need to support them with canes etc ??

Cheers
Keith

mine are not near fruiting yet - they are only 6 -8 inches tall.  I expect peppers August. Mine are in the greenhouse.  I do support them with small canes as they can get quite tall.  I'm sure yours will be fine.

Mine are also nowhere near fruiting or flowering!

What size pot should they end up in?

I'm in the same boat with 60+ chillis ... and that's after I gave looooads away :tongue2:

Most of mine are flowering and several have fruits , I've already eaten my first few crops of padrons. They were started off on 2nd Jan though.

The ones I put in pots end up in those Morrisons flower buckets, the larger size. They seem to do ok in them.
