I've just 'rescued' a chook!
« on: May 04, 2011, 19:33 »
So it all began..... lol
My children ran in shouting 'theres a chicken at the end of the road that almost got ran over by a truck'. An hour and a box of meal worms later and i have a chicken roaming my kitchen and the police haven't a clue where shes from!
i will be putting some notices up tomorrow to find her owner but in the mean time.......

.......here she is......

and the mess in my kitchen......she really likes strawberries.....

I've fallen in love already!

Isn't she lovely!  What a beautiful hen!  She's worth the strawberry mess!  If you do find the owners, give their ears a ringing!  Tell them that she is a beautiful hen that needs watched more carefully!
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

If you've made her welcome like that, she'll be back to visit - unless she never goes home!!  Do you need info on chicken housing?!?

what a coincidence; I was in Stockton today picking up some bee supplies and there was a RI Red pecking around outside someone's gate.... I did think about taking it home with me but it was a farm track so she probably knew where she was supposed to be and I didn't fancy getting chicken poo in my hubby's car!
