On our particular site in Oxford, the rent is currently £25 a year for a 10-pole plot, dicounted to £15 for pensioners, people on benefits, etc. I have 2 plots, first one at discount rate, but we have to pay full rate for any second plot. So I've just paid £40 for my 2 plots on a site with secure fencing, taps during British Summer Time, 2 loos, and our shop and committee room. And a very congenial  group of fellow plot-holders.

From figures other people have given above, sounds as if we're doing comparatively well. I've been there since 1986, and was President of the Association for a dozen years or so. There are currently  57 names on the waiting list, site is full, but probably some 6-8 plots to become available following recent plot inspections and rent days....
