Title: Elderflower wine
Post by: Capt Zero on June 23, 2013, 15:05

It's been years since I made Elderflower (or berry) wine so decided to go out and get some.
So this morning as we had to go to collect a load of rhubarb (for the 2nd 25 liters this year) we stopped and collected a black bin bag half full of fresh elderberry flowers. Just hope I'm home tomorrow to put it all together.

Yup... ;)  only a gallon for starts...never done flower before...it's working well now in the corner of the kitchen.
Looking forward to doing elderberry...I've done that in the past, I have a couple of 2gall plastic bottles so I'm going for it.

The recipe I used was this one.... HERE  (http://www.farminmypocket.co.uk/home-brewing/recipes-home-brewing/elderflower-wine-recipe)

It's getting a little late now for the flowers (in our area), but you may be lucky if not wait a few weeks and then the berries will be ready. I've done Elderberry in the past so I'm looking to do a 25 liters batch this time.
