Euclyptus pruning
« on: February 27, 2014, 20:36 »
I have a E Gunni in my front garden and it is about 3 -4 meters high and needs reducing.  Can I take it back to about a meter or so?
Most of the branches seem to be quite high.
According to this

I can but I wanted to make sure.

You can cut it down even harder than that and it will throw up shoots all around. They have a beautiful bloom on them too, and the leaves are rounder on new growth.

If you keep cutting it back, you end up with a stool at the base, and a rather elegant shrub like effect with lots of slender branches
