Yes, I've started.
Onions (ramrod, Lisbon, Ishikuri Nth Holland Red; Zeebrune shallots on 22 December
(Red Baron sets and LFR transplants, and 3 var. of shallot sets all went into the ground end of autumn).
Kohl Rabi, Azur
Cabbage
Early Purple Sprouting Broccoli
Spinach
Chillis/Peppers (sown 22 Dec)
Lettuce (Waldren's)
Bolthardy
Kale (Midnight Sun & Scarlet)
Bulls Blood
....and I'm sure there's a few more but i'd need to go downstairs to the growlights to check the labels. Most of this will go into the blowaway to grow on as they are cold tolerant.
Has anyone had any luck in sourcing trays of larger seeds modules (about 5sq cm)? I was looking for the wholesale nursery that sold off their used polystyrene trays but they appear to have discontinued the practice. All i can find are flimsy plastic ones. Any info gratefully appreciated.

Starting them is one thing, keeping them growing strongly inside is another thing entirely. What have you got to move them on into M1ckz? Its worth making sure the person you are following has a similar set up ;)
Mine have to go from windowsill to unheated greenhouse, so my early indoor sowings are very limited. So far it is just onions and welsh onions. I've tried and failed with lots of early stuff before. You end up with long leggy plants that never do that well. Better to sit on your hands sometimes - later sown stuff catches up in no time :)

I'm waiting another couple of weeks, until after the cold-snaps in the long range forecast.

Nothing except for onions and chillies, that benefit from the early start. They are in the electric propagator now. Onions are always fairly easy to keep ok with light and temperature, but chillies are more of a struggle early on, but well worth it for the plants that make it and get a good long season in. I tend to keep the early seedlings in insulated domes outside at home during the day, bring in at night, rather than trust the cold greenhouse too early.
Space in the propagator and just good old fashioned lack of time come Spring is also a reason for starting some things early. I avoid early sowing for those I know sulk too easily. I usually grow about 60 different crops so a lot to fit in.

Over winter onions and garlic are obviously in there beds but from seed the only thing ive started is Alpine Strawberrys (which I did last night).
There will be lots more in the coming weeks though!

I've put an electric propagator in my unheated greenhouse. Light levels and warmth ay least in the early stages should be fine. Previously I've positioned it indoors but North facing by a window so light was quickly a problem after germination. Should not be a problem now. I'll sow tomatoes, chillies, aubergine and peppers in the next couple of weeks.

Nothing started here in the sunny south.... may go in the greenhouse and look for the deep seed trays for the leeks and then track down the seed packets....but not yet. Too cold.
