Title: Lurkers revisited
Post by: shedmeister on May 19, 2018, 19:38
Beware folkes and folkesses. The season once again has arrived.
today I harvested my first crop of broard beans and lo and behold. as soon as I had finnished and looked round.
There they were.  Two juicy pods just lurking there more or less laughing at me.

Well at least you have beans   Mine are flowering, but no pods yet, lurking or in plain sight.

Same here... lovely broad flowers but no discernable pods as yet, and as for runners, they are only just starting to climb, but hopefully they will get there  :D :D

Like others I don’t have beans yet but this really made me smile! I have posted before about how I find myself trying to sneak up on runner beans as they’re hiding from me!

These lurkers are an awful curse
I miss them on each picking
A broad bean sniffing dog I’ll get
To give ‘em a damn good licking!

He’ll penetrate their leafy lair
They hide, with nothing showing
But he’ll have ‘em firmly by their stalks
My saucepan’s where they’re going!
