Where's the best place to get some twin-wall polycarbonate or other suitable plastic sheeting to glaze my coldframe lid? I don't need a big sheet, just about two of approx 4ft square each.

Keep ypur eyes open for a house having new windows put in - you can often scrounge old sealed unit double glazed windows from the contractors (complete with frame and handle too - just try not to lose the key if lockable. Duh). Only downside is that size of my coldframes are dicatated by the size of the windows and frames available at the time!

B&Q have it, wouldn't cost much for that size. :)

Just had a look on the B&Q site
a piece 240cm x 70cm is £20.48 and a piece 400cm x 70cm is £51.98 that doesn't make sense to me, or am I being daft?

Sorry. When we were looking at it it wasn't anywhere like that amount or we wouldn't have bought it. We used some for the garage window to stop the local brain-dead low-lifes from throwing stones and breaking it. We also had to get a polycarbonate greenhouse for the same reason.

Check with the builders merchants near you too. Their prices are usually reasonable.

I think it might be cos the big pieces are more costly to transport?

Are they the same thickness? There are different grades in our local Warehouse.

Hi there
B&Q or ebay are your best bet. I think you are safer going for B&Q as you confirm the measurements you want and ebay has the challenge of the polycarbonate not getting damaged during shipping
