Hi All - I'm just starting my second season on my plot and last year was a bit of a rush so this year i'd like some advice on manure.

I've got some horse manure bagged up which i've had about 6 weeks.

I've just started to dig over ready for Autumn/Winter and would like to know when my manure will be ready to go on the plot.

How do i know when i'ts rotted down enough?

It will be rotovated in during the springtime by the way.

Manure is properly rotted down when it no longer smells of poop and is crumbly in texture.

You should get away with putting it on the plot as it is now if you want.

Hi Yorkie - thanks for the welcome - im just off to work so i ll do my profile later - i dont mind leaving the manure off till later, but whats the latest it can go on to be beneficial?
