Ivermectin 0.1%
« on: August 14, 2010, 15:03 »
Hi... what is the best place to buy this and is it as effective as the 0.8% that i can get from the vets??

Also am I dreaming that you can put it in the water as well or is it just topical application ??

Thanks in advance

Yes I have redmite..... now I found lice too :(  CC is not a happy chicken :(
I love Pekins, Polands and Seramas :) and eggs!!!

i think that you will find ivermectin is mainly for cattle worming, and not licensed for chickens. i had mine from my vets, only had a small amount, but as it is not licensed, there is a 28 egg withdrawl period.
it is supposed to kill all worms and lice on a chicken.

would suggest you try your local vet for correct dosage instructions if you are using different strengths

He he he..... I had a long conversation with my vet two days ago and guess what?.....  I cant remember what she said:( :(

I will have to go into the surgery and speak to her again I suppose and look a dimwit!!  Oh well whats new ::)

I am sure she said that you could use the 0.1% stuff either in the water or straight down the beak.... :)

With around 200 quail chicks and nearly 100 chicken chicks..... I would prefer it to go in drinking water....

Its weird though because they dont all seem to have guests :(

Yep..... note pad or tape recorder me thinks..... I am not blessed in the memory department..... actually its the listening dept that is also a bit faulty... i tend to drift off into a chickeney world of my own :(

If I could treat drinking water the same way as when you worm then that would be soooo easy :)

I have three big pens and two smaller runs and about 15 cages of chicks to dose :(

Maybe I am being paranoid but I want clean birdies again :(

New Shoot.... how are the boys....??  The housing you made looked fab :)

CC - sorry about the delay in replying.  Been busy at work, then got horrible summer cold which knocked me out for a week and I was just about getting home from work and crawling off to bed.

Boys are fine - I put some piccies on here a couple of week ago so will dig out thread and see if I can link it  :)

They are slowly being introduced to my girls.  Had combined garden playtime today and then went in the big run for a bit.  Few minor spats but nothing serious.

I'd love some more girls but OH not so sure  ;)

Always  ;)

Here's the dynamic duo today exploring the garden. Alfie has just discovered my tomato pots on the steps and has helped himself  ::)

Alfie now 'thinning' my aquilegia seedlings  He got a telling off for that
