Can I feed the seeds to our chickens and if so should I roast and shell them?

mine like the pumpkin flesh and the seeds - I just chop the pumpkin into chunks and flick the seeds around the ground - no cooking or anything. The same goes for melons, butternut squash etc

Mine love it - i tried a whole one but they couldn’t get in.

So i cut one in half and hung it up.  Very entertaining.

The only thing to watch, is if you don’t have many hens, don’t give too much - this is only because i put half a largish pumpkin in the run, they went so mad for it they didn’t eat any of their layers pellets! 

So now i just put enough for a treat each

Not only can they eat them, but they are meant to be a good way of keeping the worm burden down!  (They are sometimes promoted as a 'natural wormer' but they didn't work for my chickens.)
