It should not harm them , mine would not eat the large seed from a Sweet Mama squash but polish off the glop and seeds from melon.
Try it in small amounts in case a hen is over fond of it.

A chap down the road from us grows pumpkins to sell at Halloween, and he always gives us the leftovers.

Both the chickens, and when we had the turkeys love them!

our ducks absolutely love them -- we have three dads/uncles of young grand-kids in our kitchen now carving pumpkins and there is a bucket or two of stuff that will go the ducks shortly - there will be a riot
