Candling question.
« on: March 10, 2009, 21:08 »
I have not taken photos as I did not have time and wanted to put the eggs back.
My question is all the photos I have seen of egg candleing look like the below.

No my eggs are like that on one half and you can see a line (top to bottom) the other side blank. Is this normal?
Stuart

Dont worry I am just paranoid duckie.

If I get the wrong end of the stick its because I have speed read. Honest.

Blar blar blar blar snorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre.

Yes development is all on one side, as the egg turns that embryo will always slowly float back to the top :)

Eventually the chick will fill the egg :)

I personally would never candle like in that pic, the lights get very hot I would hate to think I might damage the embryo, I always go in from the air cell end.
If bloke in pic put candleer opposite side you would see diddly squat as the yolk that the embryo is feeding off covers it :)

Does any of that make sence ???  Got the parents drunkun ramblings in back ground  ::)

Sarah :)

Thanks Sarah that make perfect sence. Why the h@ll the books dont tell you that I do not know.  I have an LED head torch.  Expensive but as we use it every night for 4 months of the year to do the orses it is worth it and not it doubles os a candler thingy.

Do not think any of the buff eggs have made it. But will give them a couple of days. We are only on day 6 for them.

Thanks once again.
