Dirty eggs!

 My chickens are making the eggs filthy with their muddy feet trecking into the henhouse.  I think I heard somewhere that if you wash the eggs they don't last as long?  Did I invent this or is it a fact.

I think it's a case of if you wash them it enables nasties to get into the eggs.
It washes off the protective layer.

I think best thing is if you want them clean to eat then wash them just before use.

If your selling the eggs then it becomes a whole different kettle of fish :lol:
