Water pump
« on: August 20, 2007, 17:36 »
Hello everyone
I have a stand pipe that I have dug and fitted for drinking water. I am in the process of digging out another as I want to pump water out to water the garden from the water table does anyone know what sort of electric pump I would need for the pressure.

Thanks Jim

If I understand you right, you're talking about a borehole pump.  The head (distance to lift water) is the important factor.  Navitron do a solar/battery borehole pump, but without checking I don't remember the head.

BTW, it's well worth the extra cost of having a borehole lined.  I know a couple of people who didn't and regreted it when their pump broke down and they found that they couldn't service it.  They had to dig a second borehole.
