Title: Potato varieties
Post by: 18Forts1999 on October 08, 2015, 13:54
I grew Cara potatoes as a main crop in my clay soil this year but have noticed that they tended to be floury and virtually disappeared when steamed. They were also attacked by small black slugs.
Can anyone recommend a good white variety that isn't floury.  Thanks

Cara was always best baked or roasted, when i was in the veg trade. I like Marfona as a good all round potato, also Wilja.

Seems a good site, as far as it goes, shame it doesn't have more varieties there  :(
