Pick A Polytunnel
« on: January 19, 2014, 13:55 »
Right now....
happy sunday.
Since this year is my first in growing...i'm after yet more advice from everybody.
Im after a polytunnel...but i have two choices....a (relatively) cheap but sturdy looking one....
or at twice the price a keeper.....
So in the red corner:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160789609237?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
And in the blue corner:
http://www.premierpolytunnels.co.uk/product-details.asp?prod_id=12&level_id=9&level=2

I think i will most likely go with the pricier one.....but would welcome any opinions....
cheers
Tony

The green covers on the ebay ones only last a couple of years, the one I bought was self watering by the end of the 2nd summer :(
so, if you can afford it - get the 2nd one  :)

Definitely the second one if you can afford it.  Two tips - make sure you use hot spot tap where the polythene touches the frame as it will rip at these points otherwise and have a roll of repair tape handy at all times, fix any little holes ASAP so that wind etc doesn't catch them and rip the cover.

I bought from Citadel Polytunnels and have no connection to them whatsoever other than being a happy customer.  Nice tunnel and at a good price.

I then bought the staging from Five Star Polytunnels and it was a good cheap option.  you can see the result in the pictures thread on the PT forum

Hope that helps.

Adri
