Title: Coloured Bantam Eggs
Post by: Tensing on October 10, 2006, 09:17
I would like to get some more bantams, but would like to get some differant coloured eggs. We have White Silkies and their eggs are almost human skin colours from very pale through to olive skin colours, what could you suggest for other colours.

I don't know much about bantams but if you have a look on the PekinBantams (http://www.pekinbantams.com/) site Caroline, I'm sure you will find lots of info  :D

There's some information on egg shell colours which you might find interesting on the Poultry Pages - Egg Shell Colour (http://www.poultry.allotment-garden.org/Chicken_a/egg_shell_color/index.php)
We always think of white or brown so I was fascinated to see you can get blue eggs.
There's also a breed / colour chart on there.

Thanks both, I love the many colours of eggs you can get, our ducks lay the most amazing blue/green ones.
