I'm nearly out of coffee grounds (only two containers left), so I will have to prime my sister to get me some more.

I am extremely naive with regards coffee grounds  ??? Please can you explain exactly - do you put them round plants you don't want slugs to eat or round the edge of a veg patch so they won't cross into it or do you mix with soil and they stop??? I am confused (very easily).

Thanks

I have 4 compost bins, 3 daleks and a tumbler (all free) + a large garden waste bin, all have had their fair share of grounds and each has a good healthy population of worms, in fact my back garden is now all about the worms fungi bacteria etc. I have been offering the grounds on gumtree and freecycle and last weekend a guy took at least 150lbs off my hands. I will keep collecting them and use what I need but as long as I can keep them out of landfill that makes me happy, I just wish that people were less shy and go out in their own areas and do the same. On Sunday we scattered about 15lbs on a raised bed and covered them with some of last years leaf mould, come the spring the soil should be in good shape for Lindas flowers and of course some veg tucked in here and there, cheers Dave
