So hot & sticky here, we’ve retreated inside with the doors shut again. Just checked the bbc weather app & it says thundery showers forcast in the next half hour until Sunday, I so hope it’s right.

The storm forecasts are very hit & miss, they usually miss with us  ::)
Good luck for your garden/plot  :)

Much cooler today and more 'comfortable' weather.  Still don't like it though and we really do  need some rain.

Sticky and close. Even now the local weather station thinks it's 27c with a "feels like" of 29c.

This weekends thunder storms have been changed to windy with scattered showers

We've gone from 80% chance of rain (thunderstorms) tomorrow night to 60% - I'm thinking that by tomorrow night there'll be zero chance  ::) Why do they start with such certainty when the obviously aren't sure

Nope no rain here, it’s gone cloudy again but I don’t think we’ll get any.

Unpleasantly hot, as it has been all night.  Headline in this mornings paper -
Quote
Britain's prayers are answered, rain and hail fall across the country!

Not here it didn't ! it was still 27c in the bedroom at 4am this morning.  Im not sure anymore if the constant headaches are the heat or lack of anything resembling restful sleep.  :(

We got a sharp heavy downfall at about 10.15pm for a few minutes but it didn’t cool down & you can’t tell now that we had any

Very hot with a bit of breeze but it's just starting to cloud over, so the thunderstorms predicted for us this afternoon may be on the cards.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

My theory is that the aircon has broken down at Met Office HQ resulting in a bad tempered breakdown in communications between the 'Department of Issuing Mostly Unnecessary Yellow Warnings' and the 'Department of Occasionally Accurate Weather Forecasting.'

Can't think of any other explanation as to why there is a yellow warning for thunderstorms here from 1400 today to 0200 Saturday morning, yet no rain currently forecast during that period via the weather icons.  ::)

Anyway, 2 rumbles and 3 drops of rain yesterday evening, total 0.2mm, no rumbles but 1.8mm of rain this morning.
I'd just like a decent steady downpour for at least an hour, with or without rumbles.

Rain tomorrow. How many days have we been told that for?!
Really fed up with working in these conditions.  Not to mention the state of the dustbowl allotment!

It's cool by recent standards at 18º C and we've had 1.3 mm of rain so far with more promised. Hoping for slow and steady rain which will sink in rather than a downpour which will just run off down the hillside.

Some of the trees are showing signs of water stress, think I may lose some rowans although the goat willows are looking happy enough. Also got problems with the dry stone walls. As the soil contracts it moves and the walls can literally tumble down, especially the older and poorly built in the first place walls.

I don't have the knowledge or the strength to rebuild walls myself so just had a quote for the wall that runs beside the road.. £2500
