Garden Centres
« on: June 17, 2019, 23:07 »
Had a drive around today to five GCs, all I wanted was a packet of Chicory seed!
Came home empty handed
None of them stock them for some unkown reason, spoke with one lass and said why stock 6 different lettuce but not other veg, she agreed its a bit weird.
looks like I am going to have to order them in.
Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!

It's possible they are not in stock because there may be not much demand for them; however the cost of a few packets wouldn't make much of a loss for them.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Certainly less than the 10s of lettuce seed still on the hangers.
The lass I spoke to said its Kings that send them rather than they ordering, if something is sold then they can repeat order that seed.
My only thought is kings credit what they dont sell, perhaps I am wrong but that is the only way I can think.

It is the end of the trading year for a lot of the seed companies, so there won't be many things around.  The reps turn up in garden centres over the next few weeks to do the stock takes and credits, then most centres go to 50% off seeds and some move to 50p seeds in their August sales.  New stock will be in for September.

Not much help for you seed seekers I know, but it might save a few futile trips driving about.

Wow, never, ever managed to walk out of a garden centre empty handed especially when accompanied by the other half  :D

Last week she wanted some variegated ivy for some planters.  We found some in the clearance section at half price.  However, still managed to rack up nearly £100 at the till  - how does that happen ??
