The drawback with dithane is that crops must not be harvested for 7 days after application. This protects the plants if there are only green tomatoes present but prevents a follow up spray if there are any showing signs of ripening.

Simply remove any that are showing signs of ripening prior to spraying & let them fully ripen off the plant, this should be sufficient to give you that period.

I sprayed with bordeaux diluted with water just as blight was mentioned - a funny blue solution! But did the trick too. I planted my Christmas potatoes just over a week ago, one variety has now produced leaves which I have also sprayed in the hope that that too will stop any blight.
