Sawed up the long cardboard tube that was left by the carpet fitter, and now have over a dozen nice sized pots to bring my collards on in (that's American spring greens- also freebies from a nice neighbour on the allotments!). Also cadged plastic trays from the local supermarket today - one's 'modular', last seen full of yoghurt pots! And a large plastic tonne bag (rubble bag) cadged off a friend who does garden makeovers has turned out to be a super composter. So very pleased with myself, I am. Just need to find some free dustbins to use as water butts and my joy will be complete !!!!

On my way to school with the kids the other day we passed a skip. In it was a wheel barrow! Just what we need as our other one seems to have got twisted and keeps tipping over when it's full of weeds.
The boys on the allotment are really good and always offering spare seeds and extra plants. So far this year I've been given strawberries, cabbages and promised some broccoli, leeks and brussel sprouts!
I also discovered someone has a rotovator and he's rotovated some of my plot, which, as it's heavy clay and stuck into big clods with the lack of rain, was much appreciated - was told he only accepts a bottle of whisky for his work. Sounds like a fair deal to me!!

Great to get a bargain, and also to have good neighbours on the allotment. Forgot to post that I'd found a tractor/digger and trailer on one skip - unfortunately only kiddie size and no good for using on the lottie but will be super when our grandkids come to visit next month !!!!!

I got three jars of marmite off my ploy neighbour today (it's a long story).
