Tomatoes growing on Potatoes

Tomatoes growing on Potatoes

I have got what appear to be tomatoes growing on my potatoe crop (Desiree). Having flowered they are not producing what appears to be a crop of cherry tomatoes?

This is my first year allotmenteering and my first crop of spuds, have I done somrthing wrong?

No these are just seed pods. Don't worry. :) Don't eat them though, they're poisonous.

It's potato seed pods, they're the same family as tomatoes, so fuits look similar.

The seed companies use these to produce new varieties, but not really something that home gardeners to bother with.

If you have small children, who may eat them, then remove them as their poisonous - otherwise you might as well just leave them be.
