Title: slugs on onions
Post by: neatntidy on May 28, 2014, 20:23
Having real problems with slugs on my overwinter onions. Never experienced this before. Little fellas are living inside the tubes. Scissors, yeast traps and removing damaged tubes hasn't stemmed the attack. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

No solutions. Not this year anyway. I had the same a few years back and put it down to too much moisture. Since then I have added sharp sand and mpc to the planting area to aid drainage and haven't suffered since. FWIW I still had a good crop despite the slugs munching that year.

Many thanks. Good to know might still get a decent crop. Fingers crossed.
