Pepper Variety

Can anyone tell me the name of the long peppers, sweet but with, sometimes, a very little heat, that they serve in Spain and Greece with a cream cheese filling? I've seen them growing and they don't turn red.

They're not Jalapenos they're longer than that. I've Gurgled, but not found them  :(

I'd like to grow some for myself this year...........

Thank you, they may be worth a try, but as they do ripen to red, they aren't the ones I've seen grown in Greece.

Easy, eat it before it's ripe.   ;)

Jals are ok to stuff but the flesh is a little thin, I've seen a few mild cultivars if it's the heat putting you off? They list the variety as heart but I can't help but think that's just the shape rather than its name.

Aji Dedo de Mocha? This is one of the largest-fruited of Ají peppers, the beautiful fruit are shiny, almost waxy in appearance and glow a deep red when ripe. Incredibly productive and a favourite every year. Without the heat, subtle undertones of Ají flavour come out, with distinct smokey tastes being the most obvious. One of the easier unusual and rare peppers to grow. It can be over wintered if you keep it frost-free. Gently smokey Aji. Not hot - mostly: the occasional pepper is warm, especially towards the end of the season, or with plants in their second or third year.

Peppers are about 3" long x 1/2" wide

edit: Whoops - just noticed you said the don't turn red (unlike I just have  ;) )

We know them here in Spain as pimientos italianos (Italian peppers)! But they do go red if left on the plant long enough. Looks like Spanish Spice might be the same thing.
