Got a gooseberry bush which needs moving and pruning. Is now a good time? I'd heard that fruit bushes shouldn't be pruned until they go dormant in the winter.
Growing salad leaves isn't rocket science.

My book says to move now (October) & prune in winter!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

That's correct, I agree with DD.

what i had to learn was by action mostly .what i learned you got taught from someone else instructing  . in my day the bos said shoot you shot .... cos that all that counted  .im not a modern service guy who had to have x amount of o levels n all that stuff   to be honest i had reasonable education level .what and where i finished up as a warrant officer i did on my own bat with 110% graft and by sheer blooming mindedness. now we have 21 yr old officers from school with 10 o levels and no combat or true service record  telling guys who have been in the job for 30 yrs what to do ...... todays soldier sailor airman has to be much more book orintated than ever .and why i dont understand .. looking down a rifle at the guy shooting back takes no reading just the stomach to pull the trigger .  :D

I'm sorry, I really don't know what it is(being foreign you see), but of course, you don't explain it if you do not wish to.

By the books I meant something else, like there are rules to follow in that kind of situation.
