Digging over allotment with the weather the way it is ?
Same here out4nowt

I had a good four hours out there digging today.  :D

Yesterday the ground was rock hard so never bothered.

Annoying thing is i only get weekends out there being at work all week so if the weather is bad at weekends, I get real miserable.

Booked a weeks holiday for middle of February so hopeing for some half decent weather then i can get all caught up with the digging side.

Sorry fow waffling on btw.

We were on our plot yesterday clearing some more weeds;bit of a crust on the soil at first but it was thawing out nicely when the sun got up.
Once upon a time I could control myself

You'll seem to find digging is harder when the soil is frozen...
Also if you turn the soil and put the frozen bit underground, it will take longer to defrost...

i have started to dig where my weeds are just the top 2 inches so if any weeds are left the frost will kill them.We usually have bad weather till march here in Bolton,so i have decided to build my own polytunnel. ::)

I've got some bad news for you, staffy - the frost generally won't kill the weeds  :(

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
