check to see if it is bat friendly - if it is safe for bats then yes it will be safe for your hens  :)

I use cuprinol garden shades for almost everything!  I love the bright colours and it specifically says it's animal safe (with is good news for bunnies which are chewers - less applicable for chickens perhaps as I've not noticed them nibbling away at the wood of their coop )

I think there is a warning about pets on the tin of Ronseal fence treatment. I always use Cuprinol. :)

I have used both, on my run, coop, and even fences, BUT I didnt have any hens in there, I am waiting until they are old enough to go out, it should be well weathered by the time they go out there
It's all about the journey, not the destination

Ooops, sorry that should have read 2-3 coats, I ended up putting on 3 coats, as it was very patchy, I ended up using the Ronseal spray on for the rest of the coop, and then on the outside, faster quicker and didnt use as much, but still done the job

You could be right there, >:( I started at the top, it ran down, so painted over the runs, when it dried it was patchy as hell, so another coat, same thing, so it was a final 3rd coat, still looked patchy, so I used the spray, its done now, looks fine, but with all the coats, it will probably last forever now :)

But just remember to do both sides  :)
