i am looking at building my own coop as anybody got a copy of a plan or drawing of any coops that would give me some idea how to go about building one  they could pass onto me  please

Have a google mugins!  I've found loads of plans for coops and other stuff free on the internet!

Hi mugins, I have just joined the forum today and was also searching for suitable plans for coops and runs. Didn't find anything 'free' on the net, perhaps I didn't search too long, but finished up buying a book with plan, cutting list etc called appropriately "Build Your Own Poultry House and Run" from Broad Leys Publishing Ltd. It was only £3 so I'm eagerly awaiting delivery.

whatever you build always make sure that the run space is big enough - at a minimum of 1 square meter per bird (excluding feed, drink and dust bathing area) and ideally 2 or 3 square meters per bird.
Also think about ease of cleaning.

The Golden Cockrel (maybe Rooster) line of books do an edition on making runs and coops, can be found at most chook related suppliers, we actually got ours at our county show one year. Have a google, they are out there.

Hey, sorry for bumping this old thread but have you built the coop from that book? if so could you post a pic because i'd like to see the coop you actually get before i order the plans.
