We've just had our 1st egg from our light sussex chickens that we got a couple of weeks ago. And laid in the next box too.

they are 21 weeks old now. I wasnt expecting eggs for a few more weeks so its a bonus.

Yeah!! I can still remember getting my first egg when I started with chicken - I walked around with a huge grin all day

I am sooooooooooooooo jealous.  I have a 30 week old Welsummer bantam and am still waiting (patiently  not) for her first egg.

Yay, congratulations. 
My little white silkie x laid her first egg two days ago, she laid another this morning, very pleased.

She is one of this years chicks that I kept so I am really looking forward to her eggs.  None of my other hens are laying due to moulting so they are like gold dust at the moment.
