1st egg

We've just had our 1st egg from our light sussex chickens that we got a couple of weeks ago. And laid in the next box too.

so proud  :nowink:

they are 21 weeks old now. I wasnt expecting eggs for a few more weeks so its a bonus.

Yeah!! I can still remember getting my first egg when I started with chicken - I walked around with a huge grin all day  :D

I am sooooooooooooooo jealous.  I have a 30 week old Welsummer bantam and am still waiting (patiently  :wacko: >:( not) for her first egg.   ::) :lol:

Bagpuss RIP 1992 - June 2012, 1 huge grass carp (RIP "Jaws" July 2001 - December 2011), 4 golden orfe, 1 goldfish and 1 fantail fish (also huge)! plus 4 Italian quail, 1 Japanese quail, 1 Rosetta quail.

lol ANHBUC, whenever i get new chickens, the first few days i keep checking for eggs. As soon as i stop checking they appear

My little white silkie x laid her first egg two days ago, she laid another this morning, very pleased.

She is one of this years chicks that I kept so I am really looking forward to her eggs.  None of my other hens are laying due to moulting so they are like gold dust at the moment.
