Making a garden seive
« on: May 05, 2009, 17:45 »
I want to make a biggish garden seive. I intend to make one a bit wider than my wheelbarrow and on legs so that I can run my wheelbarrow under it. I was thinking of what I could use for the mesh. It would need to be strong as the expanse would be quite great. I wondered aboutgetting one of those metal door mat. scraper things. What are your thoughts?  ::)
Keep on trucking

mine is made from fairly stiff wire mesh sold for making bird cages. Try pet stores.

Try the dump, we picked up a useful sized bird cage minus it's tray. Nic.

Weldmesh is good , if you make a frame 2m x 1m and lean it against a wall or tree at 60' angle you can throw the (dry) material at the top and it will riddle itself on the way down.

what about a shopping trolley  theres always plenty of them hanging round near houses rented by students :D

just trim it up with an angle grinder and fix it in a frame.
i dont suffer with insanity..........i enjoy every minute of it.
