Post by: Oliveview on June 19, 2006, 19:43
Got a phone call from the solicitor this afternoon, had just got out of friends swimming pool!!  The solicitor said could we complete and move on Friday!!!!!!!  Blimey, gone from no info to a few days notice!!
So got some seeds ready to plant--
Pimiento, spinache, cabbage(brunswick) and white turnip....... wonder if my toms will move ok?  Got to empty my ´posh´ urn type thingy and get it so we can carry it down the stairs, it was too expensive to leave here!! and the Aunty who gave us the money to buy it has since died.

I am so excited...............  veggie plot here we come!!    :D  :)    :tongue2:

thought you were going to say if we didn´t send lots of photo´s you would come and visit us!  I am going to be kind and give the two Spanish ladies up the road (who are like grandparents, lovely) one of my pots of tomatoes.  I gave them some plants  a couple of months ago and they have lots of leaves and no flowers.  Their patch is very shaded, would that be why?

Not quite sure how to take that :)
Unfortunately we're not going to get away as things stand - our poor old cat needs too many pills for our neighbour to handle. I think we fighting the retreat rather than winning but he's quite old at 17 for a cat.
That's a nice gesture with your neighbours - if the flowers are shaded maybe they think summer hasn't arrived?

our cats got to about 12 and 15.  The first had kidney failure and the 2nd one had cancer in the roof of his mouth and it went to his brain and he had fits so we had to have him put to sleep just incase he had a fit outside in the street and got run down.  Now we have a long haired Chihuahua, a bit like the  picture I have chosen as my ´avator´ (or whatever it is called)  Animals are such a worry aren´t they?  But they give us much love and keep us almost sane in return!

I think we're running a geriatric cat's home at times :)
Ours are rescues except for Mr Cigs (the 17 yr old)  Aphy has a nylon tendon and arthritis and Claudipus is in good health with just a little bit of middle aged spread (like me) He's also scared of mice :)
If we have more cats - and I suppose we will - I'll take in older ones from rescue centres because the kittens usually get homed but the older cats have less chance. Left to me we'd have about 40 but luckily my wife is sane.
