At the rate my tats this year are growing and reaching for the sky I am even more convinced that it wasn't last years weather soley that made last years crop rubbish, I think it was the tats I got from a local independant  nursery that were not so good.  For Mr. Learner I'm talking about Chalcroft Nurseries.  Used their tats for the first time cos reccomended to us by someone at OH work, well I say reccomended but it was more a case of he always uses them.  Worst yield I have had.

This year thanks to the new wilkinsons opeining up I got some Maris Peer there and some Charlotte from Unwins cos Wilkos didn't have a big enough bag of the Charlottes when I went.  With this lot I am back to usual topping up the plant pots everyday, they are so rampant.

It's the main lesson experienced gardeners learn - not every place selling the same item has the same quality. I've had similar experience with something else and I now know where not to buy that item. Suspect the seller got a really cheap deal and it showed in the lack of quality.

Highly unlikely unless they are a certified seed potato supplier - and the vast majority of those in the UK are in Scotland for climatological reasons.

Thanks for asking about the house.  I have my wardrobe and chest of drawers being delivered tomorrow so can then unpack the last few boxes (well, apart from those with "Study Stuff" written on them which will be unpacked once I can find my way into the study  )

Electrician coming the day after to quote for more wall sockets.
