Title: Raspberries
Post by: mdjlucan on March 24, 2024, 16:14
I’ve got a raspberry patch. The problem is I get a lot of grass growing up round  it and it’s really hard to start weeding it what can I put random to knock out the grass and all that?

You could try glyphosate weed killer, but it will also affect the raspberries if you get any of it on them.  I find a heavy mulch of something like bark chips helps a lot.  The grass roots into that and is much easier to pull out.

It would depend on the type of grass. If it's the ordinary type then maybe put some cardboard over it after you've made an edge to the plot then some weed membrane. If it's couch grass, then glyphosate is your best option.
