I've grown this variety for the first time this year and, I am a bit disappointed that they have not quite lived up to their promise. They have set a whole load of beans but I have got fed up waiting for them to swell into an eatable size. I have had two feeds off then so far and most of those pods only contained one or two, sometimes three, beans. There are still loads of tiny beans but they haven't grown any bigger for what must be a couple of months. The plants still look green and healthy but are just sitting there. Should I have been feeding them to make the beans grow or is it just the weather or what ? Thinking of pulling them up now.

They probably don't like the heat, I understood they were a winter/spring crop

Yes I did sow them in Spring so maybe an autumn sowing would have been better. I will try that this Autumn.

I had a wonderful crop from Wizard (Real Seed)   Because the mice took my Autumn sown ones I started them again  in pots on March 5th and planted them out April 12th and began harvesting on 24th July and finished on  August 5th.
No blackfly or problems.  Will definitely grow again.

I overwintered mine and had a great crop this year.  They are amazingly hardy and came through the winter with no cloche protection whatsoever    Saved loads of seeds for sowing later on in the year as well

I tried these, and they disappointed. Only about half came up, and the crop wasnt much to speak of. Must have done something wrong as a nearby row of broad beans had a similar outcome, and they'd been fine the year before. Or maybe it was the weather.

They are a cold weather over winter crop. I sowed mine last year in October and harvested them before the warm weather, they don't like the heat. Each pod was in a cluster of 3 and had 4 beans in a pod loads per stalk. Very pleased with them gave a few to a friend and she said the same.  Going to sow a whole packet this year.
