Hi all,

I recently erected a secondhand alton wooden greenhouse. All went up easily, nice and tight. Very happy, until the rain today and it seems like mainly around the vents, it is leaking a bit. I dont mean leaking like a tap, more an annoying drip....drip....drip from two or three places. I think maybe it looks lik water collects at the top of the window and just seeps underneath a bit. Any ideas or anyone with similar experiences? was thinking about maybe getting some clear mastic and sealing all of the roof panel joints. (If i can reach!)

i think every greenhouse has 'leaks' - there not sealed, so water will inevitably find its way in. but if its bothering you that much, put some mastic around the vents.

I've used clear exterior silicone sealant for a multitude of greenhouse defects in the past.  Should work, but check the vents have been  installed properly before you do this as it might just be a mistake that can be rectified.

I think Alton put the greenhouse up initially and when i took it down i left all the glass etc in place so the vents should be correct. I think maybe ill wait till the weekend and try running some clear silicone around the roof panes. Fingers crossed
