This year I had endive from May, and in June and July had lettuce, rocket, mizuna, sorrel until mizuna and rocket was decimated by flea beetle (as was Pak Choi that I planted in July.) Also used young shoots of chard. But nothing much after early August.

I'll plant under fleece next year to try to fend off the flea beetle!

But wondered if others have recommendations for salad leaves all year round?  I'll be investigating winter lettuce...what else?

Lambs Lettuce - sow now and reap from late November through to May.  small plants so you need to sow a lot but they fill a difficult gap and will grow outide in most conditions.

Chard will grow nice and big and easily overwinter, though a bit of fleece to protect against very hard frosts wouldn't go amiss. Just separate the leafy bit from the stalk bit.
