gooseberry jam
« on: July 01, 2013, 09:22 »

So, we now have 8 jars of strawberry jam and our plot neighbour has given us tonnes of gooseberries, well at least 5lb so was thinking of jam, not that keen on gooseberries to be honest but suppose jam might be ok although you don't really see it in the shops, so just looking to see if anyone makes gooseberry jam, any failsafe recipes  ???

Have you had a peep at the recipe section. I will be making some in the new two weeks so keep me informed. I had a nightmare with my strawberry jams so i want a nice easy recipe lol

Mind you i need to do a jam jar order as i only have 6 left.

You could try gooseberry chutney, if you are not fussed on jams. I made a lovely fruity one last year. Plenty of recipes on Google.

This  was the one I made, and if you like a fruity chutney, it was lovely.

Oh no not blooming strawberries again, i am so in a love hate relationship with them right now. Although maybe the gooseberries provide enough pectin to set the damn strawberries
