As my plot is subject to flooding,decided to plant a low willow hedge at the top of plot it slopes downward. Have been told not allowed cant find it in the rules advised to take it out which defeats the object.?

You should ask them to identify where in the rules it says it's not permitted - it may be covered by a more general exclusion rather than specifically listed.

I must say, that willow on our site is an enormous problem.  Whilst it does do well in boggy parts, it gets rapidly out of control.  Despite annual reminders, some plants are well over 15' high and still reaching for the skies. It is a most pernicious plant.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
