Can you ID this type of lavender thank you

It appears to have little butterfly ears on the top of the flowers, which leads me to think it's a type of French lavender.  I can't be more specific than that.

Having enlarged the photo, I think that might be the last of the little flowers on the spikes coming out. the leaves don't appear to be "toothed" but smooth edged.

It looks similar to Lavender Angustifolia, rather than Munstead for example. We have quite a lot like this.

mdjlucan, it is time to trim the flowers off, down to some nice fresh looking growth (Not down to old wood or they may not re-grow) to keep the bushes fairly compact. This is always a job I enjoy as it all smells so good  :D
