We don`t add anything as there is plenty of natural yeast and sugar present.

Flatcap,we found the pulpmaster took a while to get used to but is easy once you have the knack, good idea to do the pulping outside but my OH gets around that by pulping when I`m at work!!I get home to fruit fly heaven and they spend the evening sharing my wine!

You put an air lock on your container and the first thing that has to happen is for it to stop fermenting. This can take from 4  through to 8 weeks. :D

What you may not have noticed outside, but would notice if done inside, is that juice spirals its way up the pulpmaster spindle, through the lid, and then spins off in every direction (normally washing machine, kitchen unit doors, etc.).

Worth it though - I've now pulped 1,100 lbs of apples this year using mine.

Flatcap, wait til you smell your compost heap!!

Forgot to mention the flying apple juice and the sqich-squich noise as your feet stick to the kitchen floor.Still i can`t complain as our spare room floor is covered in drying walnuts and demi johns of elderberry and blackberry wine and I start on the damsons this weekend.

Sounds like our house, my daughter worried about going to school with hands  stained brown, fermenters bubbling in the study and the kitchen full of fruit.

Squeezing the last of the elderberry juice out wiped out all signs of walnut stains!!!
