Title: Storing veg!
Post by: Donnay on August 05, 2012, 20:26
Hi folks

This might seem as stupid question but it's my first year on the lottie so please bear with me. The onions I have grown are great and I need to think about storing them. I dont have enough room in my shed on my lottie really as they would be inthe way or at home.

A friend wants to get rid of his wooden tool shed, It's like a normal shed but very small. It does not have a window and I was wondering if this wold be ok to have as a hanging shed for my onions etc?

Not sure when storing veg if you still need a little light? Any advice welcome.

The one thing that is sure to ruin your stored onions is moisture.  No matter where you store them it must be as dry as possible.  Your mates shed sounds like it may be damp,  I know, my tools went rusty!

Try to find somewhere in the airing cupboard (wait until 'er indoors' goes out to bingo) ! ! !

Cheers,     Tony.

things still freeze inside sheds, so they're not the ideal place to store any veg  :(
